The Aqua-Quip EvoMAX LED White Pool Light is a flush-mounted, wet-niche LED lighting system designed to retro-fit directly into existing Aqua-Star and Spectrum MK1 flush-mounted light housings — no new niche required. The EvoMAX features a one-piece diffused acrylic lens that is 45% larger than the Evo2, extending beyond the dress ring for increased beam spread and side-lighting effects, while maintaining a flush profile that protrudes just 9mm from the pool wall.

Available in 1, 2, 3, and 4 light packs, with options for light only, light + cable with mounting hardware (20m, 30m, or 40m cable), or a complete Builder’s Pack including mounting hardware and transformer.

EvoMAX LED lights must only be operated underwater — they are water-cooled and will overheat if run in air.

Will the EvoMAX fit my existing pool light housing?

The EvoMAX is designed to retro-fit directly into existing Aqua-Star and Spectrum MK1 flush-mounted light housings. If your pool currently has one of these lights, the EvoMAX replaces the light unit using the existing housing and cable — no new niche or conduit work required. What is the difference between the EvoMAX and the Evo2?

Both the EvoMAX and Evo2 retro-fit the same Aqua-Star housing and use the same Quick Connect Plug Kit. The key difference is the lens: the EvoMAX has a one-piece diffused acrylic lens that is 45% larger than the Evo2, extending beyond the dress ring to provide a wider beam spread and more pronounced side-lighting effects. The EvoMAX also produces more lumens (985 vs the Evo2’s output) and has a slightly higher power draw for the multicolour version (30VA vs 25VA).

Do I need a new transformer when upgrading from halogen to EvoMAX?

Yes — halogen pool light transformers are not compatible with LED lights. You will need an LED-compatible 12V AC transformer rated for the EvoMAX’s power consumption (25VA for fixed colour, 30VA for multicolour). The Builder’s Pack variants include a compatible transformer. If you are purchasing the light-only or light + cable variants, you will need to source a compatible transformer separately — contact us for advice on the correct transformer for your installation.

Can the EvoMAX be run out of water?

No — the EvoMAX is water-cooled and must only be operated when fully submerged. Running the light in air will cause it to overheat and may permanently damage the LED module. Always ensure the light is submerged before powering on, and never test the light out of water.
