Frequently Asked Questions

What is the escutcheon gasket on a pool skimmer?

The escutcheon gasket is the rubber seal that sits between the skimmer faceplate (escutcheon) and the pool wall. It prevents water from leaking behind the skimmer and into the pool structure.

Which skimmers does the 5150900 gasket fit?

The 5150900 escutcheon gasket is compatible with the Filtrite SK950 and SK1000 pool skimmers.

How do I know if my escutcheon gasket needs replacing?

Common signs include water leaking around the skimmer faceplate, visible cracking or deterioration of the rubber seal, or the faceplate feeling loose against the pool wall. If you notice any of these, the gasket should be replaced promptly to prevent structural water damage.

Is this a genuine Filtrite part?

Yes — this is a genuine Filtrite / Pentair replacement gasket, not an aftermarket substitute.

Can I install this gasket myself?

Yes — replacing the escutcheon gasket is a straightforward DIY job. Remove the skimmer faceplate screws, replace the old gasket with the new one, and refit the faceplate. If you need guidance, call us on 02 9137 8914.
