Frequently Asked Questions

What are pool skimmer socks used for?

Pool skimmer socks are fine mesh liners that sit inside your skimmer basket to catch small debris — such as hair, pollen, and fine leaves — that would otherwise pass through and clog your pump or filter, reducing equipment wear and maintenance costs.

How often should I replace pool skimmer socks?

Skimmer socks can be rinsed and reused multiple times. Replace them when they become torn or no longer hold their shape. Most pool owners replace them every 1–4 weeks depending on debris load and pool usage.

Will Aussie Gold Mega XL skimmer socks fit my skimmer basket?

Yes — the Aussie Gold Mega XL Skimmer Socks are designed to fit most standard skimmer baskets. The easy-fit design stretches to accommodate a wide range of basket sizes commonly used in Australian pools.

Are skimmer socks reusable?

Yes. Simply remove the sock from your skimmer basket, shake out the debris, and rinse with a hose. They are designed for repeated use, making them a cost-effective pool maintenance solution.

What size skimmer sock do I need?

The Mega XL size is suitable for most standard and larger skimmer baskets. If you are unsure, check your skimmer basket dimensions — the stretchy mesh design accommodates a wide range of sizes.
